Choosing a Telescope: Refractors

There are three main types of telescopes that are available to the video astronomy community: Refractors, Reflectors (newtonians), and Cassegrains. Each have their strengths and weaknesses. This post will focus on Refractors.


Refractors are what most people think about when they picture a telescope. It has a lens in the front that bends light so it reaches focus at a particular point.
